Products Description
316 and 316L stainless steel strip are popular austenitic stainless steel grades that contain molybdenum, which imparts improved corrosion resistance. They both have 16-18% chromium and 10-14% nickel, providing excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments. The main difference between the two is their carbon content. 316L has lower carbon content, minimizing the risk of carbide formation and sensitization during welding. These grades are commonly used in marine, chemical, and medical industries for applications such as heat exchangers, surgical instruments, and implants.
