Aircraft Aluminum Plate

Common Alloy types of aircraft aluminum alloys: 2024, 7075, 7050 and 6061 aluminum sheets. 2024 aluminum plate has high fracture toughness and low fatigue crack growth rate, and is the most commonly used material for aircraft fuselage and underwing. In 1943, the 7075 aluminum plate was successfully developed and successfully applied to the B-29 bomber. 7075-T6 aluminum alloy has the highest strength, but has poor resistance to stress corrosion.
7050 aluminum plate is developed on the basis of 7075 aluminum alloy, which has better strength, anti-exfoliation corrosion and stress corrosion resistance, and is used in the pressure parts of F-18 aircraft.
6061 aluminum sheet can also be used in aircraft. Has good corrosion resistance and excellent weldability, but moderate strength.
